The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development issued a mortgagee letter about the approval of the use of Fannie Mae Form 1004D and Freddie Mac Form 442. The form is know as an Appraisal Update and/or Completion Report. It allows for lenders to extend the life of an FHA appraisal and avoid a new appraisal.
